The 2012 Season is coming soon!

All you need to know to play for the Bel-Air Lions and Norsemen

What if I don't know how to play football? It's okay! The Lions' coaches will teach you everything you need to know to play. Come out to a practice and give it a try! We hope you'll love playing football as much as we do.

When are the practices? Practices start in July and run three times a week - usually Monday, Wednesday and Friday but this may be different depending on the level you are playing.

When are the games? Regular season games start at the end of August and end in mid-October when the play-offs start. Games are usually played on either Saturday or Sunday (depending again on your level). A game schedule will be posted as soon as it is available for the season. We play 12 other clubs in NCAFA, the National Capital Amateur Football Association over the course of the season.

When are the play-offs? The play-offs start at the end of the regular season around mid-October. Teams at each level play earn their place in the play-offs over the season and play for one of three different trophies during the play-offs -- the A-CUP, the B-CUP or the C-Cup.

Who can play? Boys and girls play football with the Bel-Air Copeland Lions and Norsemen on one of seven teams depending on their age and weight. The standard ages and weights are:

Level Maximum Age
Girl's Peewee Touch 14
Girl's Bantam Touch 17
Tyke 10
Mosquito 12
Pee Wee 14
Bantam 16
Midget 19
Age as of December 31st of the current playing year.
